Amadis DVD Ripper is an application that allows you to extract video from DVD movies and convert it to popular formats such as avi, divx, xvid, asf, wmv, rmvb. With this tool, you can also convert between popular video formats (therefore you will need to install codec packs not included with the software).
It supports conversion to formats playable with portable devices like iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, Apple TV. Preset profiles with parameters like video codec, size, bit rate, frame rate, aspect ratio, audio channels, etc help you with the most common configurations and devices, you can also customize those settings.
The program is easy to setup and use, has a nice graphic interface with a preview screen, is compatible with many formats supported by most video players and gives you additional tools like the option to shutdown your computer after a long conversion is performed. If you want to test it, a free trial which only allows you to convert 30% of each video is available for download.
